Manuel Cortes

Manuel Cortes, MS has a strong background in data science and machine learning. Manuel is currently working at Bitso as the Head of Machine Learning. In this role, they led the development of an investment product that resulted in an 83% increase in the risk-reward trade-off. Manuel also successfully launched a Profit and Loss feature that led to a 15% revenue increase and a 30% increase in app usage. Prior to Bitso, Manuel worked at Kanto Studio as the Head of Data Science where they developed machine learning models that improved marketing campaign ROI and reduced campaign expenses. Before that, they were a Risk consultant - Data analyst at SESPEC where they utilized traditional risk models and machine learning techniques to optimize budget allocation and generate accurate forecasts.

Manuel Cortes, MS, completed their Master of Science degree in Risk Management at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from the same institution from 2015 to 2018. Manuel also holds another Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, which they completed from 2013 to 2018.
