Brandon Bates

Brandon Bates is currently an advisor at Bitszer. Brandon was previously a portfolio manager and quantitative researcher at Squarepoint Capital from January 2019 to December 2020. Prior to that, Brandon was a director, portfolio manager, and quantitative researcher at BlackRock from January 2012 to December 2019. Brandon is responsible for devising new quantitative investment strategies for all asset classes that married data science with economic theory. Brandon also has experience as a physical equities portfolio manager and smart beta researcher. Brandon Bates holds a degree from Brigham Young University Marriott School of Business.

Brandon Bates started their educational career by obtaining a BS in Mathematics and Economics from Brigham Young University. Brandon then went on to obtain an AM in Economics from Harvard University. Finally, they obtained a PhD in Financial Economics / Business Economics from Harvard University.
