Thomas Eckert

Thomas Eckert serves as the Group Chief Information Officer at BKW AG since May 2024, focusing on achieving IT excellence and accelerating digital transformation efforts across the organization. Prior to this role, Thomas was a member of the IT Steering Committee for the Cities of Aarau and Baden since January 2019 and held various leadership positions at ABB, including VP and Group IT Manager, where responsibilities included overseeing global IT technology architecture, digital transformation initiatives, and the restructuring of global information security services. Thomas has an extensive background in IT service delivery, project management, and business process management, with notable experience in both operational and strategic roles since starting at ABB Turbo Systems in 1994. Thomas holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Chief Digital Officer certificate from MIT and an Executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen.
