David Villa is an undergraduate researcher at Montclair State University, focusing on the lives of enslaved and recently freed people of color in mid-late 19th century Paramus, New Jersey since June 2022. Additionally, David has been an instructor and curriculum writer at Black Rocket Productions since June 2019, specializing in teaching game design and programming skills to children and teenagers. David obtained a degree in Information Technology with a concentration in Game Development from the New Jersey Institute of Technology between 2015 and 2021.

From a child’s dream in a small store-front over 10 years ago, Black Rocket has grown to serve over 100,000 children in over 100 college campuses and private schools across the country. Beyond the classroom, we also offer a virtual community and store where everyone can learn, create, publish, and purchase digital media content, lessons, and products.
