Doug Mackenzie currently leads the execution of resilient and sustainable power and energy infrastructure projects at Black & Veatch for Federal clients, specializing in microgrids and renewable energy solutions. They have previously held roles as an Electrical Engineer, Project Manager, and Program Director at Black & Veatch, where they created and led the Federal Energy Security Program. Doug conducted research on microgrids and distributed energy resources at the University of Denver and has been an active volunteer with IEEE Smart Village since 2017. They are pursuing a Master of Science in Applied Economics at Johns Hopkins University and hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Denver.
