Simon Kidd

Simon Kidd has extensive experience in the field of industrial design. Simon started their career as an Industrial Designer at Outerspace Design Group in 1997. From 2001 to 2003, they worked as a Senior Industrial Designer at Kinneir Dufort, where they gained experience in product development and innovation workshops. Simon then joined Design & Industry as a Senior Industrial Designer, where they managed multiple product development programs. In 2004, they moved to Chiaphua Industries, China, where they served as the Group Industrial Design Manager and Commercial Manager, responsible for product design and development. Since 2007, Simon has been working at Blackmagic Design as the Director of Product Design & Engineering, leading design strategy and overseeing a team of more than 70 staff. Simon played a significant role in Blackmagic's transition from a technology-driven manufacturer to a design-led, user-centered business, with their products being used in acclaimed Hollywood productions.

Simon Kidd attended Yarra Valley Grammar School from 1987 to 1993, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned. However, between 1994 and 1996, they pursued a Bachelor of Design degree in Industrial Design at RMIT University. In addition to their formal education, Simon obtained a certification in Professional Design Practice Course from the Design Business Association in London, UK in March 2001.
