James Sweeney is the Head of Economics for Fundamental Fixed Income at BlackRock, a position held since 2022. They previously served as the Chief Economist and Regional Chief Investment Officer for the Americas at Credit Suisse from 2000 to 2021. Early in their career, Sweeney gained experience as a Eurodollar Desk Intern at Prebon Yamane in 1998 and as a Speechwriter for the Office of the Secretary of State of Florida in the same year. Sweeney holds a Master of Science in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Political Science from Florida State University.
