Michael Scharber

Michael Scharber is an accomplished director at BlackRock since November 2006, where as a founding member of the iShares Research & Analytics group, Michael designs and promotes data and analytics for the iShares business and ETFs. Additionally, Michael has contributed significantly as a core member of the Active Data Engineering group in San Francisco, focusing on the development of proprietary data feeds and analytical systems for the Scientific Active Equity business. Prior to BlackRock, Michael served as Vice President and Sr. Systems Developer at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography from August 1998 to November 2006, and held the position of Group Manager and Technical Architect. Michael holds a B.A. in Geography from Macalester College and furthered education at the University of Minnesota between 1996 and 1998.
