Matthew Winterstein

Matthew Winterstein is a Mission Planning Engineer at BlackSky, where they have progressed through various engineering roles. They earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2019. Prior to their current role, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan’s Department of Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering, developing Python and C++ scripts for climate data analysis. Matthew also served as a Cooperative Assistant at Consumers Energy, updating electrical map databases, and as a Laboratory Assistant at the Lurie Nanofabrication Facility, where they created operating procedures to improve lab efficiency. Additionally, they managed logistics and budgeting for the Michigan AIAA DBF - MACH team from 2016 to 2020.
