Kelley Morrell is Global Head of Asset Management in the Tactical Opportunities group. In this role, she oversees a global team and is involved in the ongoing management and oversight of the group’s investment portfolio, as well as creating and driving value-added initiatives alongside the investment team. Since joining Blackstone in 2017, Ms. Morrell has been involved with several Blackstone investments and currently serves as a Director of Bumble and Centric Brands.
Before joining Blackstone in 2017, Ms. Morrell served as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at CIT Group, and was a member of the Executive Management Committee. At CIT, she helped shape the company’s strategic direction following its emergence from bankruptcy, and led numerous strategic transactions in the commercial and consumer finance sectors that contributed to CIT’s transformation to a bank. Prior to that, Ms. Morrell served as senior director of the U.S. Treasury Department’s Automotive Industry Financing Program during the Obama Administration, where she had primary responsibility of overseeing the taxpayers’ investments in Chrysler Financial and Chrysler Group. Ms. Morrell previously worked as an Associate at Hellman & Friedman where she was involved in the evaluation and execution of private equity transactions, and in investment banking at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in its Financial Institutions Group.
Ms. Morrell graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College and received her MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School.
