Larry D. is the Chief Legal Officer for Blackstone’s California operations, where they lead legal and regulatory matters for investment activities on the West Coast. They focus on private equity, growth equity, and strategic partnerships, advising on fund formation, compliance, governance, and complex cross-border transactions. Prior to Blackstone, Larry served as a partner at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP and held roles as Deputy General Counsel at Technology Crossover Ventures and Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Blum Capital Partners. Larry began their legal career at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP and holds a JD from Northwestern University and a BA in English from Dartmouth College. They are admitted to practice law in California and New York.
