Yan Gu

Yan Gu is a Managing Director of the Hedge Funds Solutions Group. As the Hedge Fund Solutions Group’s head quant, Yan is responsible for and involved with many aspects of quantitative analysis and initiatives, including portfolio construction, new product development, team management and helping build quant culture at BAAM. Before joining Blackstone in 2019, Yan was head of quant research and member of the management committee of Stone Ridge Asset Management. Prior to joining Stone Ridge, Yan was head of research of quant equity at Magnetar Capital. Yan also worked as a quant researcher at Citadel and Lehman Brothers. Yan received a PhD in theoretical physics from UPenn, a MS from Stanford and BS from Fudan University in China.
