Ivan Roels

Ivan Roels has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Ivan most recently held the position of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Bleckmann starting in October 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Toreon as a Director of Government Security Solutions from January 2017 to September 2020, and also as a Senior Consultant from January 2014 to December 2016. Ivan also worked as a Consultant at Ministerie van Defensie from October 2019 to May 2020, and at Luminus from May 2019 to October 2019. Ivan Roels had extensive experience with ICT security in their roles at FPS Foreign Affairs from September 2016 to December 2018, where they served as the Head of ICT Security and as a Consultant. Ivan also worked as a Program Manager, Security Architect, and Consultant at Provincie Antwerpen, "a critical research facility," CEPA, and Radical Consulting/Radical-IT, respectively. Ivan Roels has a strong background in information security and consulting.

Ivan Roels completed their Bachelor's degree in Applied Informatics, Software Development, Accounting, Economics, and Management from Karel de Grote-Hogeschool in the period from 2002 to 2006. Ivan then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Electronics, Data- and Telecommunications from the same institution from 2006 to 2007. Following that, Ivan obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Industrial Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Electronics, Data- and Telecommunications from Karel de Grote-Hogeschool in 2007 and 2008. Ivan furthered their education by completing an Executive Development Programme (General Management) from Vlerick Business School in 2017 and 2018, where they studied courses related to Business Strategy, Strategic Marketing, Process and Operations Management, Finance, and Accounting. Ivan also holds various certifications, including Lead Implementer ISO/IEC 27001:2013 from BSI, SABSA Chartered Architect - Foundation Level (SCF) from The SABSA Institute, and CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional from (ISC)2.
