Alexei Marchenkov has an extensive work experience in the field of science and technology. Alexei began their career in 1986 as a M.Sc. student/Laboratory Assistant at the Kapitza Institute for Physical Problems. In 1997, they moved to UC Berkeley as a Postdoc and in 2001 they joined Georgia Institute of Technology as an Assistant/Associate Professor, where they established an experimental group working in the areas of nanostructured materials, nanoelectronics, sensors and computational physics. In 2011, they joined the Skolkovo Foundation as Director of R&D, Technology Park "Skolkovo" and in 2013 they were appointed CTO of Projects "Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (SkolTech)" and "Technopark". In 2014, they joined Rigetti Quantum Computing as an Early Team Member - Technology and Infrastructure Development and in 2017 they founded and became CEO of Bleximo Corp.
Alexei Marchenkov received their M.Sc. in Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT) between 1986 and 1992. Alexei then completed their Ph.D. in Physics at Leiden University between 1993 and 1997.
