Brandon Carl has extensive experience in software engineering and machine learning, currently serving as Technical Lead for Machine Learning Foundations at Block since April 2020. Prior to this role, Brandon held positions as a Senior Software Engineer on the Machine Learning Platform at Block and in Instagram's Machine Learning Infrastructure from 2016 to 2019. Earlier experience includes software engineering roles focused on big data services at Quantcast and geocoding at Apple Inc., where Brandon also completed internships. Brandon began a career as a System Administrator IT Assistant at the Center for Research in Biological Systems at UC San Diego. Brandon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from UC San Diego, earned in 2012.
