Ebony Sunala Johnson is a financial services regulatory expert and military veteran, bringing a wealth of experience to her current role as Head of Regulatory Affairs at Block. Having served as an Air Force Officer from 2000 to 2005 and later in the Air Force Reserve, Ebony transitioned into the legal field as a Federal Judicial Law Clerk for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia from 2008 to 2010. Ebony has held key positions at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Consumer Bankers Association, culminating in her recent work advising executive leadership at Truist on consumer finance regulations. Currently, Ebony is pursuing her Juris Doctor at Howard University School of Law, alongside executive leadership training at Wharton Executive Education and a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from the United States Air Force Academy.
