Emily Slocombe

Emily Slocombe is an accomplished database engineer currently serving as an Engineering Manager at Block since 2025. With a robust background in system administration and database management, Emily has held various positions, including Database Engineer at Square and Database Infrastructure Engineer at SurveyMonkey. Previously, Emily gained experience as a System Administrator for The Recorder and worked at Nokia as a Senior Systems Engineer. Emily pursued graduate studies in Cognitive Neuroscience at Tufts University before returning to focus on web app architecture and is currently studying for a BS in Cognitive Science at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
