Faisal Sohail

Faisal Sohail is an experienced compliance professional specializing in economic sanctions and financial crimes. Currently serving as the Global Head of Sanctions at Block since July 2023, Faisal previously held the position of Compliance Director - Economic Sanctions at Fifth Third Bank from November 2020 to July 2023. Faisal's extensive career at Western Union Business Solutions spanned from April 2012 to November 2020, where roles included Director, Financial Crimes Compliance, Americas, and various managerial and analytical positions focused on government sanctions. Earlier experience includes an internship at the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), where Faisal maintained a United States SECRET clearance. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Global Security Studies from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Politics from George Mason University, along with studies at the University of Fribourg and the University of Oxford.
