Jie Liu, PhD, CFA, FRM, currently serves as the Model Governance Manager at Cash App, part of Block, since September 2021, focusing on underwriting and credit machine learning. Prior experience includes roles as Model Risk Manager at Square Financial Services and Model Validation Manager at Ally from June 2016 to September 2021, as well as Senior Model Validation Analyst at Ally. Jie Liu began a career in quantitative risk modeling at M&T Bank from June 2013 to June 2016. Academic credentials include a PhD in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina, an M.S. in Analytics from North Carolina State University, and a B.S. in Biotechnology from Nanjing University.
