Juan Hernandez is currently the Head of Credit & Underwriting at Block, where they lead credit strategy and portfolio risk across consumer lending products, including Cash App Borrow and Afterpay. With a strong background in AI research and machine learning, Juan has developed underwriting models designed to enhance access to fair credit for underserved populations. Previously, Juan held various roles, including Data Scientist at FICO and Research Associate at Quorum Consulting, contributing to the fields of predictive modeling and market analysis. Juan's academic achievements include pursuing a BS in Economics and Political Science at UC Berkeley and a MS in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University, alongside their ongoing studies in Latin at The University of Chicago.
