Junlin Yao

Junlin Yao has extensive experience in machine learning and data science, currently serving as a Staff Machine Learning Engineer (Modeling) at Block since June 2024, and previously holding the same title at Block from September 2021. Prior to this role, Junlin worked as a Senior Data Scientist at 4Paradigm from June 2018 to September 2021, developing various machine learning models for real-world applications, including anti-money laundering solutions and transaction detection. Earlier experiences include a Research Assistant position at Argonne National Laboratory, focusing on energy consumption predictions for advanced vehicle technologies, and another Research Assistant role at Tencent, where Junlin researched neural text summarization models. Junlin holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, a Master of Science in Computer Science from Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich, and a Diplôme d’ingénieur in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from École Polytechnique.
