Nick Chen

Nick Chen is a seasoned data engineer with extensive experience in data platforms and analytics. Currently serving as a Staff Data Engineer at Block since August 2022, Nick previously held roles as a Senior Data Engineer and Data Engineer at Automox, where responsibilities included transitioning the platform to microservices. Prior experience includes working as a Software Engineer III at Walmart Labs, focusing on large-scale machine learning pipelines, and positions as a Lead Software Developer Intern and Software Developer Intern at Novacoast, where project coordination and full-stack development were key contributions. Nick holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UC Santa Barbara, along with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Canterbury, complemented by a high school diploma from Alameda High School.
