Paul Mortby

Paul Mortby is currently the Head of EMEA Policy at Block since September 2020 and serves as a Board Member with a focus on strategy and engagement at the European FinTech Association since January 2023. Previous roles include Chair of the Digital Asset Working Group at the Financial Conduct Authority and Senior Associate in Cryptoasset Policy. Paul has a solid foundation in financial law and policy developed during positions such as Policy Advisor at FIS and Project Assistant at the Financial Markets Law Committee, where skills in project management and complex issue management were honed. Educational credentials include a Master of Laws in International Trade and Commercial Law from Durham University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Aberdeen, complemented by early legal experience in various firms.
