Shuwei Hu

Shuwei Hu has a diverse work experience in various roles related to sanctions, risk management, and financial operations. They are currently serving as the Lead - Global Sanctions Operations & Program Management at Block. Prior to that, they worked as the US Head of Sanctions & Information Sharing at the National Bank of Pakistan and as the US Head of Sanctions at Mashreq Bank. They also gained experience at HSBC as an AVP Senior Compliance Officer, at BNP Paribas as a Consultant in Sanctions Enforcement & Exceptions, and at 888holdings as a Supervisor in Risk Management. Additionally, they have held positions at E*TRADE and GAIN Capital, where they worked in fraud prevention, financial operations, client onboarding, and KYC operations.

Shuwei Hu's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) in International Business & Management from Montclair State University. Additionally, Shuwei has obtained several certifications. In September 2016, Shuwei obtained the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification from ACAMS. In March 2021, Shuwei obtained the Certified Cryptocurrency Investigator (CCI) certification from Blockchain Intelligence Group. Lastly, in May 2022, Shuwei obtained two more certifications: the Certified Global Sanctions Specialist (CGSS) from ACAMS and the Chainalysis Cryptocurrency Fundamentals Certification (CCFC) from Chainalysis Inc.
