Tal Friedman

Tal Friedman is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in application security and software supply chain security, currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Block since November 2020. At Block, Tal has successfully led initiatives to enhance the scanning of build artifacts for open-source vulnerabilities and facilitated a smooth transition to a new vendor through comprehensive vendor analysis. Previously, Tal played a key role in establishing the Software Supply Chain Security team at Square/Block and contributed to strengthening build and deployment systems. Prior experience includes a tenure at Groupon as a Senior Software Development Engineer and various roles at IBM Canada, culminating in over a decade of expertise in the field, supported by a B.A.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto.
