Vanessa Chie Young

Vanessa Chie Young has a diverse background in language teaching, international operations, and fulfillment management. From August 2006 to August 2008, Vanessa worked with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program(me) as an Assistant Language Teacher and Assistant Prefectural Advisor, planning English lessons and advising international residents. Subsequent roles included Global Delivery Operations Lead and North America Operations Lead at Square from August 2020 to September 2021, and currently serving as the Global Fulfillment Lead at Block since March 2025. Vanessa also held various positions at Bare Escentuals in international operations, August Home, Inc. in inventory and logistics management, and Tile in senior fulfillment and logistics roles. Additionally, experience as diplomatic staff at the Embassy of Japan involved maintaining communication with multiple governmental entities and translation tasks. Vanessa earned a BA in International Studies with a focus on Japanese from the University of Washington and studied at the Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies.
