Yang Zhang

Yang Zhang is an experienced Machine Learning Engineer currently building AI applications for Cash App's Banking services at Block since June 2022. Previously, Yang worked as a Software Engineer at Lyft, focusing on a Machine Learning Platform from June 2019 to June 2022, and served as a Software Engineer at Apple, specializing in ML & Maps from August 2018 to July 2019. Yang's career began at Uber as a Data Scientist from July 2017 to August 2018, and included a role as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Tennessee, where Yang taught programming to over 250 engineering undergraduates. Earlier experience includes software development internships at Siemens and Sumitomo Chemical. Yang holds a PhD, an MS in Statistics, and an MS in Computer Science, all from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
