Jesse Tao is a Research Engineer at BlockScience since April 2021 and has served as the Web Development Lead at Tao Innovation Labs since August 2018. At Tao Innovation Labs, Jesse designed a program for precise geographic tracking of Pokémon, developed a real-time Swift application to collect coordinates, and created a MySQL database for live Pokémon locations, alongside building a website using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for user interaction. Jesse also designed a Discord bot with Node.js for notifications and successfully raised approximately $10,000 through crowdfunding for website operations. Prior experience includes serving as the Firmware Engineering Lead at Pulse, where Jesse collaborated with a team to create a low-cost wearable device for visually impaired individuals, programming firmware for sensors and motors, as well as deploying image recognition models on Raspberry Pi. Jesse holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder and completed a Data Science Immersive program at General Assembly in 2021.
