Barbara Troy has over 25 years of experience in the travel and financial industries. Barbara began their career at American Express in 1996 as the Global Director of Learning and Performance. In this role, they created the vision and strategy to support over 4,000 Travel Counselors and Team Leaders with a shift from classroom training to virtual instructor-led training and computer-based learning. Barbara also designed, developed, and delivered training curriculum and identified pre and post-training metrics. In 2014, they were promoted to Director of Support Operations, where they led a team of 145 employees across 14 functions. In 2016, they were promoted to Global Product Marketing: Partnership and Product Management, where they created the Travel Management Company (TMC) strategy and roadmap for the American Express Business Travel Account with Virtual Payments (BTA) central bill card product. In 2020, they joined Conferma Pay as the Business Development Director, where they worked with TMCs to increase their understanding of the value and benefits of virtual payments in the travel space. Currently, they are the Vice President of Agency Services at Blockskye, providing next-generation inventory booking, payment, and dynamic expense solutions for the travel and procurement industries using blockchain.
