Johan Starkenburg

Johan Starkenburg has a diverse work experience history. Johan is currently working as the CEO of BlockTech B.V., a position they have held since January 2023. Prior to this, they were the Team Lead at BlockTech B.V. from February 2021 to January 2023. Johan also worked as a Quantitative Analyst at BlockTech B.V. from September 2019 to February 2021.

In 2017, Johan co-founded and co-owned ALONIE, a clothing line business where they served as a co-founder and co-owner until October 2020.

Before that, Johan was the Year Representative for MSc Actuarial Studies at Quest from September 2018 to July 2019.

Johan also gained experience as a Student Assistant at the University of Groningen from September 2016 to July 2019, where they assisted with various courses and responsibilities.

Furthermore, they worked as a Member of the Data Analytics Team at VESTING from August 2018 to April 2019, where they focused on developing and implementing various models for start-up companies.

Johan also held the role of an Ambassador at Socrates Nederland, where they handed out awards to selected students at the graduation ceremony from February 2017 to July 2018.

Lastly, Johan served as the Secretary of the Groningen Board at Socrates Nederland from September 2015 to July 2016, where they were responsible for the organization's administrative tasks.

Johan Starkenburg earned a Bachelor's Degree in Econometrics and Operations Research, as well as in Honours College, from the University of Groningen, where they studied from 2015 to 2018. Johan then pursued a Master's degree in Actuarial Studies at the same university from 2018 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed their Pre-University Education, focusing on Economics and Society, at Lauwers College Buitenpost from 2009 to 2015.
