Torsten Witt has held several roles in the past 8 years. In 2022, they became the Manager of Extrusion and Finishing at BlockTexx. From 2014-2013, they were a Research Fellow and Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Queensland. During their time as a Research Fellow, they led the engineering project team to develop a new fertilizer to reduce fertilizer run off from sugarcane crops in northern Queensland. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, they promoted a group research culture among the 3 postdocs and 12 students in the ITTC, researched the physics involved in the alteration of food structure during oral processing, and performed industrial research for Plantic on the structural properties of thin starch films. Torsten also provided leadership and guidance for more than 10 students of varying levels, from undergraduate to PhD nearing thesis submission.
Torsten Witt attended The University of Queensland, first earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from 2005 to 2008, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry from 2009 to 2014.
