Chris Held

Chris Held is a seasoned engineering and operations leader with extensive experience in remote monitoring and diagnostics within the power services sector. Currently serving as the Senior Director of the Remote Monitoring and Control Center at Bloom Energy since October 2022, Chris previously held the role of Senior Director of Engineering for Remote Monitoring & Diagnostics at GE Power & Water for 15 years. During this tenure, Chris managed a global service for 1,000 power plants in 75 countries, achieving significant milestones such as doubling the customer base with minimal added cost, maintaining a 98% annual customer retention rate, and driving consistent productivity improvements. Earlier roles included leading hardware, firmware, and software engineering teams for GE's Watt Hour Metering market and managing technology strategy and budgets for new product introduction. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from California State University, Chico.
