James Hull has a diverse work experience starting in 1996. James worked as a Pre-sales Consultant for JBA and Diagonal Solutions. In 2003, they worked as a Data Analyst for DWP, followed by a role as a Data Analyst for Bradford Royal Infirmary in 2004. James then became a Business Analyst at Provident Financial.

From 2005 to 2014, James worked at Science Warehouse Ltd, where they held various roles such as Implementation Consultant, Support Manager/Scrum Master, Development Manager, and Product Manager. During their time there, they introduced Agile and Scrum methodologies, managed software release cycles, mentored staff, and implemented a quality management system. In their current role, they are responsible for all IT, Digital, Product, and Data provision within Bloom. James has developed a new web application, decommissioned an old line of business application, and transitioned data to a cloud-based data warehouse.

James Hull earned a BA (Hons) in Economics & Politics from the University of York from 1993 to 1996. From 1998 to 2001, they obtained a PGDip in Professional Computing from Leeds Beckett University. In 2023-2024, they pursued an Executive MBA at Leeds Trinity University. Additionally, they hold certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner from Scrum Alliance (obtained in March 2017), Certified Scrum Master (obtained in 2016), and Management 3.0 from Happy Melly (obtained in 2016).
