David Hostert

David Hostert is the Global Head of Economics & Modelling at BloombergNEF, where they lead the Economics & Modeling research division and are the principal author of the influential New Energy Outlook. Previously, they served as Head of Research for EMEA at BloombergNEF, coordinating analyses on policy and energy dynamics, and held roles as Head of Wind Energy Research and Senior Analyst specializing in onshore wind. They began their career with internships at the Association of German Banks and New Energy Finance, focusing on bioenergy and biofuels. David holds an MPhil in Environmental Policy from the University of Cambridge and a BA in Philosophy & Economics from the University of Bayreuth.
