John Lakos is a seasoned software engineering professional with extensive experience in management and teaching. Currently serving as a Manager at Bloomberg since December 2001, John leads the BDE group focused on developing reusable C++ software, while also mentoring other engineers in the software infrastructure department. Prior to this role, John managed core infrastructure teams at Bloomberg from 2011 to 2014 and held the position of Managing Director Principle at Bear Stearns from 1997 to 2001. Academic contributions include serving as an Adjunct Professor in the Computer Science Department at Columbia University from 1991 to 1997, and having a background as a Senior Software Engineer at Mentor Graphics from 1987 to 1997.
