Jon Asmundsson

Jon Asmundsson has extensive experience in financial journalism, currently serving as FFM Editor, <GO> Section Editor, and Strategies Editor at Bloomberg News since January 2006. In this role, Jon writes and edits stories for the front-of-book section of Bloomberg Markets, a widely circulated magazine, while also planning and assigning coverage to identify investment opportunities and address market challenges. Prior to Bloomberg, Jon worked as Senior Editor/Copy Chief at The Deal from 1999 to 2005, focusing on private equity, venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and bankruptcy. Jon’s career in journalism began at Institutional Investor, where Jon served as Copy Chief from 1994 to 1999, overseeing all stories in the international and Asian editions. Jon holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop and an AB in History from the University of Michigan.
