Matt Townsend

Matt Townsend is an accomplished editor and reporter with extensive experience in journalism. Currently serving as an Editor at Bloomberg LP since January 2009, Matt oversees the Business of Sports newsletter and acts as a quasi deputy team leader for the sports business group. Prior to this role, Matt wrote for Bloomberg News and Bloomberg BusinessWeek, focusing on public retailers. As an Adjunct Professor at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in 2014, Matt taught "Covering Companies" and guided students in producing comprehensive stories. Previous experience includes working as a Content Producer at Serious USA, where Matt wrote and edited marketing content for notable companies, and as a Reporter for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, covering local news and sports. Matt holds a Master's degree in Journalism from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, and a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Pittsburgh.
