Bloom is a YCombinator-backed social and dating app that helps people meet around events. Bloom partners with event organizers to enable attendees to connect and chat before and after events. Bloom members can discover events and people to meet through the app. The team is led by Lauren Vegter, who previously led User Acquisition at Instagram from 700Mto past a billion users, launched consumer VR and led social VR at Oculus, and has two MIT degrees. The team has experience from Google, Facebook, Nest, LinkedIn, Ebay/Paypal, and multiple YCombinator-backed startups.
