Obota Clay is an experienced professional in fisheries management and capacity building with a strong background in community-based environmental conservation and technical capacity development in East Africa. Currently serving as the Head of Technical Capacity at Blue Ventures since June 2022, Obota focuses on training, data collection, and alignment with global strategies across Kenya and Tanzania. Previous roles include Technical Specialist Fisheries, Research Associate for the SecureFish-USAID funded Samaki Salama project, and Marine Projects Coordinator at COBEC Projects. Obota holds a Master of Science in Fisheries from Pwani University and has completed the Africa Marine Leadership Program in 2023. Additionally, Obota has experience as a part-time lecturer and has contributed to various research initiatives and training programs in fisheries assessment and management throughout a robust career.
