Philip James

Member Board of Trustees and Director

Philip James is currently the Director of the UNSW Centre for Sustainable Development Reform and holds multiple roles, including Secretariat Co-Director at the Global Ocean Accounts Partnership and Affiliate Faculty at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Previously, Philip served as the Head of Domestic Marine Economics at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and worked as a Senior Economist at Development Pathways Ltd. Philip also has experience as a Scheme Project Manager at Network Rail and as an Economist for the Department of Energy and Climate Change, as well as for the Pacific Community-SPC focusing on fisheries and marine ecosystems. Philip earned a PhD and MSc in Environmental Economics from the University of York and a BA in Economics from Lancaster University.
