Blue Care Foundation (BCF) is a boutique, family-founded non-profit established in 2024 by Karim and Josephine Somji to address food insecurity among children and expectant mothers in Lebanon and Tanzania. 

Having grown up in Tanzania (Karim) and Lebanon (Josephine) with very limited resources, the founders share a deep conviction that every child deserves the support needed to become an independent and productive adult, regardless of where they are born. This belief underpins BCF’s core principle: protecting dignity is non-negotiable.

We support communities facing food insecurity with care and respect, without regard to sociocultural background, religion, or politics. While immediate nourishment is sometimes essential, our work goes beyond short-term aid. We partner with communities to strengthen local food systems and build long-term resilience, reducing reliance on external assistance over time.

BCF being a boutique NGO is not about being small. It is about being intentional, personal, and deeply human. We remain nimble so we can listen closely, adapt quickly, and design programs that reflect the real needs and voices of the communities we serve. Our size allows us to build trust-based relationships, pilot thoughtful solutions, and stay closely engaged at every stage of implementation.

Our approach is also community-rooted & partnership-driven. Through initiatives such as school-based feeding, community gardens, education, and capacity building, we collaborate with local stakeholders to co-create solutions that are culturally relevant, sustainable, and designed for scale.

With compassion and data, we work towards a future where every community sustains resilient food and nutrition systems, and every child is well nourished and 
capable of reaching their full potential, even without external aid.
