The Blue Food Futures Program deepens our understanding of blue foods in food systems transformation, integrates research insights into policies, and fosters a global network of blue food scholars. 

Our researchers examine the roles of blue foods in addressing food, climate, nature, and social challenges. We also offer fellowships to emerging researchers and professionals dedicated to filling knowledge gaps about blue foods and providing actionable insights for policymakers.

Blue Food Futures is an endorsed program of the UN Ocean Decade and is a collaboration between the Stanford Center for Ocean Solutions, Stockholm Resilience Centre at Stockholm University, Environmental Defense Fund, Government of Iceland (as the chair of the Aquatic Blue Food Coalition), WorldFish, National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis, University of British Columbia, and Xiamen University. The Stanford Center for Ocean Solutions hosts the program Secretariat.
