Derek Shum

Derek Shum is an accomplished aerospace engineer with extensive experience in avionics and systems engineering. Currently serving as a Senior Engine Avionics Systems Engineer at Blue Origin since September 2019, Derek has previously held significant roles at Sikorsky from January 2014 to September 2019, contributing to the development of the CH-53K King Stallion helicopter, including flight test support and process development for aircraft upgrades. Derek's experience also includes participation in Foreign Military Sales for the Black Hawk, where support was provided for various international clients. Educational credentials include a Master of Business Administration from the Isenberg School of Management, UMass Amherst, and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland.
