Dimitris Priftis

Dimitris Priftis, PhD, possesses extensive experience in materials science, polymer chemistry, and engineering across various prestigious organizations. Starting as a Visiting Researcher at the University of London and the University of Tennessee, Dimitris conducted innovative research in biosensors and nano-composite materials. As a Postdoctoral Research Associate at both UC Berkeley and The University of Chicago, leadership and management of research teams focused on polyelectrolyte-based materials were key responsibilities. At Boeing, program management of multimillion-dollar R&D initiatives was undertaken. Currently, in the role of Senior Manager at BLUE ORIGIN, Dimitris oversees Chemical Processing and Thermal Protection Systems teams, emphasizing operational excellence and continuous improvement. Additionally, as an Adjunct Professor at Clemson University, mentoring and lecturing in materials science and engineering forms a significant part of the academic contribution. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and advanced degrees in Polymer Science from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon.
