John Borek

John Borek is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in avionics, instruments, and guidance, navigation, and control systems. Currently serving as an Avionics, Instruments, and Guidance, Navigation & Control Engineer III at Blue Origin since March 2022, John also held the role of Modeling and Simulation Engineer II. Prior to Blue Origin, John worked at Borek's Concrete as a Project Estimator for nearly 14 years. Academic achievements include a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, achieved between 2017 and 2021, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, completed in 2017. Additionally, John has experience as a Graduate Student Lead and Research Assistant during graduate studies, demonstrating a strong foundation in research and leadership within the engineering field.
