Lawrence Cooper

Lawrence Cooper is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in avionics hardware engineering, having served as the Director of Avionics Hardware Engineering at Blue Origin since March 2017, where responsibilities include managing cross-functional teams for New Glenn, New Shepard, and Blue Engines projects. Previously, Lawrence held various roles at Intel Corporation from 1996 to 2016, ranging from Server Chipset Pre-Silicon Validation Engineer to Hardware Technology Program Manager, leading initiatives in HPC platform development and client hardware engineering. Earlier career experiences include serving as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the US Air Force Academy and working as a Program Manager at Phillips Laboratory, focusing on advanced defense programs. Education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington, a Master’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of New Mexico, and an MBA in Technology and Innovation Management from Pacific Lutheran University.
