Mark Fleckenstein is an accomplished propulsion engineer with extensive experience in aerospace design and engineering. Currently serving as a Propulsion Engineer II at Blue Origin since January 2022, Mark leads the design of a dual expander oxygen turbopump and manages product definition, stack-up analysis, and manufacturing support. Prior to this, Mark worked as a Turbine Design Engineer at Rolls-Royce, where responsibilities included delivering turbine modifications, leading engineering teams to develop test rigs, and managing design for manufacturability activities. Mark’s expertise extends to various engineering roles at Rolls-Royce, including Performance Engineer and Fan Component Design Engineer, with a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions and optimizing efficiencies. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia and has garnered significant experience in rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing.
