Michael Sheehan is a recent graduate from Columbia University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Aerospace Engineering. Michael has co-led the Columbia Space Initiative's rocketry team, culminating in the launch of the first LOX hybrid rocket developed by a U.S. student-led team. Currently, they serve as a Combustion Devices Responsible Engineer at Blue Origin and previously interned at SpaceX, focusing on Raptor Propulsion and Manufacturing Engineering. In addition to their industry experience, Michael operates as a Makerspace Superuser at Columbia Engineering, overseeing trainings and maintaining advanced machinery.
