Human Resources Director at Blue State

Jon-Michael Eclar has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Starting in 2007, they worked as a Marketing team member for the Central New York Jazz Arts Foundation. Jon-Michael then served as an Education Intern for the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and as a Summer Workshop Intern for Lincoln Center Institute in 2007. In 2008, they became the Studio Manager for the Washington National Opera and also worked as an Assistant to the KCOH Orchestra Manager at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

From 2011 to 2013, Eclar was the Chorus Manager for The Choral Arts Society of Washington, where they managed the operations and functions of the volunteer chorus and organized a successful tour. Jon-Michael then joined the Folger Shakespeare Library as a Human Resources Assistant, taking on responsibilities such as recruitment and HR reporting, from 2013 to 2016.

In 2016, they joined the Association for Talent Development (ATD) as an HR Coordinator, and later worked as an HR Associate for Clements Worldwide from 2017 to 2018.

Their most recent position is with Blue State, where they started as an HR Generalist in 2018, eventually moving up to Lead HR Generalist, HR Manager, and currently serving as the Human Resources Director. In this role, they oversee various HR functions, including benefits administration, performance reviews, and DE&I initiatives. Jon-Michael also supervises and mentors team members.

Jon-Michael Eclar attended Syracuse University from 2005 to 2008, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Music Industry with a focus on Vocal Performance.
