Scott Penney

Scott Penney has over 20 years of work experience in various roles and companies. Scott is currently working as the Sr. Director of Product Management at BlueCat since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked at VMware as the Manager of Solution Engineering from May 2022 to October 2022. Scott also has previous experience at BlueCat as the VP of Strategy from December 2019 to May 2022, Vice President of Field Engagement from February 2018 to December 2019, and Director of Cyber Security Solutions from November 2015 to February 2018. Before joining BlueCat, they worked at Datalink as the Regional Engineering Director from October 2013 to November 2015. Scott also worked at Symantec as the Sr. Manager of Systems Engineering for Global Accounts from April 2013 to October 2013, and as the Area Manager of Systems Engineering for West Enterprise & Commercial from April 2010 to April 2013. Scott's previous experience includes working as a Senior Systems Engineer at EMC from September 2009 to April 2010, as a Principal Systems Engineer at Symantec from September 2006 to September 2009, as a Consulting Manager at International Network Services from July 2004 to September 2006, and as a Business Consultant at Project Leadership Associates in 2006. Scott began their career at AT&T Wireless, where they served as the Manager of Engineering & Product Management from 1999 to 2004.

Scott Penney earned their MBA in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University between 2001 and 2003. Prior to that, they obtained their BS in Business Information Systems from the University of Phoenix from 1998 to 2000. In addition to their degrees, Scott has obtained several certifications, including the Jira Fundamentals Badge from Atlassian in November 2022 and the Responsive Web Design from freeCodeCamp in March 2022. Scott is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)².
